Position Summary:
Position Purpose:
Distribution Center associates are an essential part of The Home Depot s distribution network. They load and unload trucks, move material within the facility and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment. They safely operate forklifts or other machinery in order to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products. They paint, plaster and perform other building maintenance functions including minor plumbing and minor carpentry in order to maintain and repair facilities and react to maintenance related incidents, such as spills. Specific Distribution Center/Warehouse positions may include: General Maintenance Associate, General Warehouse Associate, General Office Associate, Dept. Supervisor, Administrative Assistant, HR Coordinator, Customer Service Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator and Asset Protection Auditor.

Environment:
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness
Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment, some of which may be heavy weight (up to 75 pounds)
Additional Qualifications:
Requires ability to use material handling equipment
