The Assistant Merchandiser supports the development and execution of departmental seasonal strategies and business objectives. Assists through the entire Product Life Cycle process.
Responsibilities:
Assist Merchant in:
All facets of managing a successful department to meet financial objectives
Analyzing current business trends; Identifying business opportunities and risks through sales performance analysis
Partner with:
Merchandising and Planning teams to execute promotional and investment strategies to effectively manage sales, gross margin, and inventory
Merchant on executing assortment (fabric commits, timely assortment sheet passes)
Communicate changes in deliveries, receipt quantities and other merchandise operations to appropriate members of the cross-functional team on a timely basis
Shop competition on a monthly basis for current fashion trends, price points, and promotional activity
Generate various business analyses (weekly, monthly and seasonally)
Prepare analysis for key PLC events as directed by merchant
Purchase Order (PO) Workbench management
Manage PO process
Work with cross-functional team to validate four-way match information prior to PO creation
Create POs and revisions in workbench
Update assortment sheets accordingly and extract to workbench
Reconcile receipts; responsible for completion and maintenance of on order/assortment sheets
People Management
Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional team members
Interface professionally and work effectively in group settings
Handle other responsibilities and projects, as assigned
Requirements:
BA or equivalent, and 6 months–1 year prior experience as an Assistant Merchandiser

Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
Strong prioritization skills
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Sense of urgency
Strong fashion sense, with a pulse on Brand and Client needs
Excellent organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
